Smilin' and Profilin'

Well, the Archer family is just rolling along! We've had a busy month. Kerrie's parent were here last week from Florida for a great visit, and her brother's family will be here on Saturday. We're looking forward to Abe getting to meet his cousins, Sean and Alyse.

Abraham has really started smiling and talking a lot. He wakes up in the morning beaming from ear to ear. Getting smiled at by our son is such a great way to start out our day! It makes it a lot easier to get up early.

Our sixth wedding anniversary is coming up on the 29th. That's pretty hard to believe. On one hand, I can't believe it's already been six years--and on the other it feels like we've known each other so much longer. I guess it like that when your married to your best friend!

I've wanted to put some pics on for a little while, but I've had to wait because we let a friend borrow our camera. I'm gonna go take kid and dog for a walk!

Our Dedicated Little Boy

Yesterday was a special day in the Archer household. Little Abraham had his dedication at our church! It was a great ceremony where we committed his life to the Lord, and the congregation affirmed that they would help us raise him as a believer. It really was a special time. Kerrie's parents were able to be there, along with my mom and sister. Also, some of our good friends dedicated their children: Finley and Brooke Robinson (Silas), Thommy and Bekah Greer(Ethan), And Christian and Elizabeth Vaught (Thomas). Lots of boys up there!

Abraham is doing really well. Kerrie's parents are already in love with him and have trouble putting him down. He's a month old and he's huge. I expect him to start walking and talking any day now.

I know it's been a little while since we've updated, but we wanted to wait until the dedication so we could post those pictures. Enjoy!

Here we are up on stage for the dedication. That's our great friend Sam Hannon on the left. Notice the bottle sticking out of my pocket...always prepared, baby. Posted by Hello

There are all of the kids who were dedicated in our service. Abe is the pensive one in the middle. Posted by Hello

Here's our wonderful family who came to the dedication. From left to right: Terry and Nona (Kerrie's parents), Kerrie, Me, Jai (my mom), and Jaime (my sister). Oh, and Abraham is the little chunky one in the middle. Posted by Hello

Abe's world tour begins

Well, this week marked the beginning of Abraham's public life. Last Sunday, we had a "meet the baby" shower and cookout at our house so that students, leaders, and families could meet the little bugger. We had around 80 people show up, eat hot dogs, shake Abe's hand, play frisbee, and just hang out. It was a great time!

Wednesday night we had Cell-e-bration. That is our end-of-the-year cell group party for all of our Bible study groups. Usually, we have this at the church, but this year we did it at the Greek Theater on the University of Arkansas campus. It was amazing! We had a great time of worship and had quite a few baptisms. Kerrie came with her cell group and brought Abe along. It was really cool to see the students and leaders light up when they saw him. Chicks dig him, guys want to hang out with him. He's already a heartbreaker.

We've been saving the money that people have been giving us to get Abe a jogging stroller. I've been taking him out walking around the neighborhood with Riley in his regular stroller, but I wanted to get a rugged stroller that we could take on trails and everything. I finally found one that I think will work great. It's called a BOB. Dang, it's got everything...shocks...pegs. We'll be able to talk it off some sweet jumps. I can't wait to get it! Abe will be stylin' in his new wheels.
